Thom Fishe has been playing the drums since he was old enough to read. He joined his first rock band when he was 13 years old, and graduated early from high school, joining "Music Magic," a seven-piece show group that toured the east coast, playing in the hotel show circuit. Thom's first experience with jazz-fusion and contemporary playing came in 1978, when he joined the John Davis Quintet. They subsequently released a self-titled album in 1982, and were called as an opening act for such performers as Ahmad Jamal and Lou Rawls. He played with the Moonlight Jazz Orchestra for 15 years. Thom is known for his versatility and flexibility on the set, which is why he is often called to play with such performers as Rick Burns, Harlan Jefferson, Dan Voll, and the Beat Merchants, just to name a few. He is one of the founding members of the jazz/funk group Seratonin and the Jodi Beach Trio. |
